Rudy Rupak - Resume

Rudy Rupak is the co-founder of Planet Hospital with his fiancée Valerie Capeloto. His background in medicine, insurance, customer service, and international business has helped him build Planet Hospital into the largest Medical Tourism company in the world.

Rudy is a serial entrepreneur who at one time disappointed his parents by not completing a medical degree so that he could pursue his dream of producing motion pictures. After working in several distribution companies to learn the business of film, he started his own production company -- Millennium Multimedia and produced three feature films for Columbia Pictures (Snowboard Academy), Disney (She’s Too tall For Me), and HBO as well as two successful computer games. A major government agency in Canada mistook Millennium Multimedia for a Y2K company and gave Rudy a $2 million plus Y2K compliance contract. The company entered the Y2K space in 1997 and was taken public on the Nasdaq OTC in 1998. In 2000, Rudy partnered with Loxley Corp in Thailand and Solutions Group in India to create ContactStation – Thailand’s first international call center, the core competency was medical debt collection. While in Thailand, Rudy’s fiancée, Valerie, became ill and was hospitalized. It was then that Valerie discovered the potential of medical tourism and thus Planet Hospital was born. Having sold ContactStation, Rudy was busy creating India’s first real estate title Insurance company) with his partner Stewart Title (NYSE: STC). While Valerie built Planet Hospital steadily, it was after the 50th client that Rudy realized Valerie was on to something and decided to put all his focus into helping the company grow to meet the needs of the fast moving medical tourism industry. Rudy has grown Planet Hospital into the number of medical tourism company and is innovating products such as insurance programs for the over 45 million uninsured in America. Rudy still enjoys film, and is working on a novel in whatever spare time he can.
